Stock Yards Bank & Trust handles QuickBooks differently from most banks, and that difference is why people end up here. Stock Yards is the Louisville, Kentucky bank founded in 1904 (parent Stock Yards Bancorp, NASDAQ: SYBT), with more than 70 branches across Kentucky, Southern Indiana, and the Cincinnati area of Ohio and roughly $9 billion in assets. Its own Intuit setup guides indicate that Direct Connect, the live two-way feed many banks offer, is not an available option here, so QuickBooks relies on a downloaded file or a credential-based feed that can drop. When that feed is not an option or you need history it cannot reach, upload a Stock Yards Bank PDF statement to the converter at the top of this page and get the transactions back in a format QuickBooks accepts.
The converter turns a Stock Yards Bank PDF statement into a .qbo Web Connect file that imports into QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, plus matching Excel and CSV copies. Every transaction keeps its date, description, and amount, and the running total is checked against the statement before you export. Here is how Stock Yards connects to QuickBooks, why Direct Connect being off changes your options, and when converting the PDF is the better move.
Built for the statements US banks actually send, checked before it exports.
The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to the statement total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.
Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.
OCR runs before parsing, so a scanned or photographed paper statement comes out the same as a digital PDF.
Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.
Enter the password on upload. Multi-column and multi-page statement layouts are parsed too.
One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.
Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.
Drag in a PDF, a scan, or a phone photo. Password-protected and multi-page files are fine.
Every transaction is extracted and checked against the statement total. You see the parsed rows before exporting.
Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.
The specifics that decide whether the import is clean. If your case is not here, email [email protected].
Yes, but not through Direct Connect. Stock Yards Bank publishes its own Intuit user guides for QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and Quicken, and those guides indicate Direct Connect is not offered, which leaves a downloaded Web Connect (.qbo) file or a credential-based aggregated feed as the ways in. The aggregated feed reads your transactions using your online banking login and can break when the bank changes its login screen. Converting the PDF statement gives you the same data as a clean .qbo file without depending on the feed at all.
In QuickBooks Online, go to Transactions, Bank transactions, Link account, and search for Stock Yards Bank, then sign in with your online banking credentials to set up the aggregated feed. In QuickBooks Desktop, use Bank Feeds and set up the account the same way, or import a downloaded Web Connect file. Because Stock Yards does not offer Direct Connect, there is no two-way connection to enable, so if the aggregated feed will not authenticate or keeps disconnecting, download the PDF statement and convert it to a .qbo file with the tool above.
The most common reasons are the credential-based feed losing authentication after an online banking change and leftover connections from a bank Stock Yards acquired. Stock Yards bought Kentucky Bank (completed June 2021) and Commonwealth Bank & Trust (completed March 2022), and customers of those banks had their old QuickBooks connections retired when the accounts moved onto Stock Yards systems, so an old Kentucky Bank or Commonwealth entry will no longer pull data. Relink under Stock Yards Bank & Trust, and if the aggregated feed still fails, convert the PDF statement with the tool above.
Sign in to Stock Yards Bank online banking, open the account, and look for an export or download option, choosing the QuickBooks Web Connect (.qbo) format and a date range, then import it through Upload from file in QuickBooks Online or File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files in Desktop. If the export only offers CSV, QuickBooks Online cannot import that directly. Online history is limited, so for older periods or a clean catch-up, save the PDF statement and convert it to .qbo instead.
Sign in to Stock Yards Bank online banking, open the account, and go to the statements or documents section to view your electronic statements. Stock Yards keeps about 13 months of statements viewable and printable online, so pick the month you need and save it as a PDF. For anything older than roughly a year, request the statement from the bank, since it will not be in your online history. Personal and business accounts both produce a standard PDF statement, and whatever the source, the PDF converts the same way.
Convert the Stock Yards Bank PDF to a .qbo file with the converter above, then import that file. In QuickBooks Online, go to Transactions, Bank transactions, then Upload from file, and choose the .qbo. In QuickBooks Desktop, go to File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. QuickBooks asks which account the transactions belong to, then drops them into the banking review queue for matching and categorizing, the same way a live feed would, without depending on a connection Stock Yards does not fully offer.
Those connections were retired when the banks folded into Stock Yards. Stock Yards Bancorp completed its purchase of Kentucky Bank in June 2021 and Commonwealth Bank & Trust in early 2022, and both were rebranded and moved onto Stock Yards systems. Once that conversion finished, the old online banking logins and any QuickBooks feed tied to Kentucky Bank or Commonwealth Bank & Trust stopped working, and the accounts had to be set up again under Stock Yards Bank & Trust. If you still have an old tile in QuickBooks, remove it, relink to Stock Yards, and convert any pre-conversion PDF statements so the historical transactions are not lost.
Stock Yards statements convert cleanly because the layout stays consistent month to month. Checking and business statements list transactions in date order with a description and amount, separating deposits and credits from checks, withdrawals, and service charges, with a balance summary, and treasury or analysis accounts add a fees section. The converter strips out the summary boxes, fee tables, and check images, so only real transactions reach your .qbo file, and it reads scanned or photographed statements through OCR the same way it reads a digital PDF, which helps with older statements saved outside online banking.
Use the aggregated QuickBooks feed for going-forward activity when it authenticates and stays connected. Convert the PDF statement when the feed will not link, when an old Kentucky Bank or Commonwealth Bank tile keeps failing, when a download comes back as CSV instead of .qbo, or when you need history the feed misses: anything past the roughly 13-month online window, opening balances for a new QuickBooks file, a catch-up month, or a closed account.
Accuracy is the part that matters most, because a converter that quietly drops or misreads a transaction costs far more time than it saves. The error usually surfaces during reconciliation, sometimes weeks later, while you chase a few dollars across a long register. This converter totals the transactions it parsed and checks that figure against the statement total before it lets you export, so the .qbo you import reflects every line Stock Yards printed. You review the parsed rows in the preview first, then export once the numbers tie out.
