Zions Bank connects to QuickBooks through Direct Connect, Web Connect, and Express Web Connect, but that lineup is about to change. Zions Bank Direct Connect is being retired after October 30, 2026, and the bank is telling QuickBooks and Quicken users to switch to Express Web Connect or to Web Connect manual downloads before then to avoid an interruption. Migrations like that are exactly when feeds drop and transactions stop loading, and Zions users have already reported lost connections between QuickBooks and the bank. When the connection breaks or you need history it cannot reach, you can work straight from the statement instead. Upload a Zions PDF statement to the converter at the top of this page and get the transactions back in a format QuickBooks accepts.
The converter turns a Zions Bank PDF statement into a .qbo Web Connect file that imports into QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, plus matching Excel and CSV copies. Every transaction keeps its date, description, and amount, and the running total is checked against the statement before you export. Here is how Zions connects to QuickBooks, what the Direct Connect change means, and when converting the PDF is the better move.
Built for the statements US banks actually send, checked before it exports.
The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to the statement total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.
Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.
OCR runs before parsing, so a scanned or photographed paper statement comes out the same as a digital PDF.
Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.
Enter the password on upload. Multi-column and multi-page statement layouts are parsed too.
One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.
Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.
Drag in a PDF, a scan, or a phone photo. Password-protected and multi-page files are fine.
Every transaction is extracted and checked against the statement total. You see the parsed rows before exporting.
Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.

Yes. Zions Bank supports QuickBooks through Web Connect, where you download a .qbo file from Zions online banking and import it, through Express Web Connect, the aggregated feed QuickBooks Online refreshes for you, and historically through Direct Connect for two-way Bill Pay and downloads. Direct Connect is going away after October 30, 2026, so Zions is steering everyone toward Express Web Connect or Web Connect. Because that migration is underway, many business users keep a converted-statement workflow ready: download the PDF, convert it to .qbo here, and import clean data whenever the live connection is mid-change or down.
Zions Bank is retiring Direct Connect after October 30, 2026, and is asking QuickBooks and Quicken customers to move to Express Web Connect (the recommended automatic option) or Web Connect (manual .qbo download) before that date to avoid losing transaction downloads. If you do nothing, the Direct Connect feed for your Zions accounts will stop after the cutoff. During and after the switch, you can keep QuickBooks current by downloading each Zions PDF statement and converting it to a .qbo file with the tool above, which does not depend on Direct Connect at all.
Zions feeds usually fail for one of a few reasons. With Direct Connect being retired, some accounts lose the connection during the migration to Express Web Connect and stop syncing until they are relinked. Changed credentials, a pending security prompt, browser cache problems, and Zions-side server issues can each break the feed too, and QuickBooks users have reported lost connections to Zions accounts that needed support tickets to clear. While the connection is down, download the Zions PDF statement for the period you need, convert it to a .qbo file here, and import that so the account stays current.
To reconnect after the Direct Connect retirement, disconnect the old Zions connection in QuickBooks, then add the account again and choose Express Web Connect or Web Connect rather than Direct Connect. Sign in to Zions online banking first to confirm your credentials and clear any security prompts, since the new connection has to authenticate cleanly. If the relink leaves a gap in your transactions, download the Zions PDF statements that cover the missing days, convert them to .qbo with the tool above, and import them so nothing is skipped between the old feed and the new one.
Log in to Zions online banking, open the account, and choose the option to download or export activity, then select the QuickBooks Web Connect (.qbo) format and a date range. Import that file in QuickBooks through Upload from file in QuickBooks Online, or File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files in Desktop. If the download returns an error, the format is wrong, or the date range only covers a short recent window, download the PDF statement for the period you need and convert it with the tool above instead.
Sign in to Zions online banking, open the account, and go to the statements or documents section. Select the months you need and save each one as a PDF. Zions keeps several years of monthly statements online, far more than a freshly reconnected feed will import after the Direct Connect switch. If you need a period older than what shows online, Zions can provide archived statements on request, and those PDFs convert the same way as the ones you download yourself.
Convert the Zions PDF to a .qbo file with the converter above, then import that file. In QuickBooks Online, go to Transactions, Bank transactions, then Upload from file, and choose the .qbo. In QuickBooks Desktop, go to File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. QuickBooks asks which account the transactions belong to, then drops them into the banking review queue for matching and categorizing, exactly as a working Zions feed would, without depending on Direct Connect.
Use the Zions feed for going-forward activity once Express Web Connect is set up and stable, since it keeps QuickBooks current with little effort. Convert the PDF statement during the Direct Connect migration, when a relink leaves a gap, or when you need history the feed misses: opening balances for a new QuickBooks file, a catch-up period, a closed account, or any month the new connection does not backfill. Because the October 2026 cutoff is forcing every Zions QuickBooks user to switch, converted statements are the simplest way to stay current through the change.
Accuracy is the part that matters most, because a converter that quietly drops or misreads a Zions transaction costs far more time than it saves. The error usually surfaces during reconciliation, sometimes weeks later, while you chase a few dollars across a long register. This converter totals the transactions it parsed and checks that figure against the statement total before it lets you export, so the .qbo you import reflects every line Zions printed. You review the parsed rows in the preview first, then export once the numbers tie out.
