Associated Bank is the largest bank headquartered in Wisconsin, and like most regional banks it connects to QuickBooks through Web Connect rather than a high-touch direct integration. That works until it does not: aggregated feeds for regional banks tend to be less reliable than the megabanks, downloads can arrive empty or stall during bank maintenance, and QuickBooks Desktop now makes you sign in to an Intuit account before it will import a Web Connect file. When the feed stalls or the .qbo will not import, you can work straight from the statement instead. Upload an Associated Bank PDF statement to the converter at the top of this page and get the transactions back in a format QuickBooks accepts.
The converter turns an Associated Bank PDF statement into a .qbo Web Connect file that imports into QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, plus matching Excel and CSV copies. Every transaction keeps its date, description, and amount, and the running total is checked against the statement before you export. Here is how Associated connects to QuickBooks, why the download fails, and when converting the PDF is the better move.
Built for the statements US banks actually send, checked before it exports.
The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to the statement total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.
Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.
OCR runs before parsing, so a scanned or photographed paper statement comes out the same as a digital PDF.
Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.
Enter the password on upload. Multi-column and multi-page statement layouts are parsed too.
One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.
Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.
Drag in a PDF, a scan, or a phone photo. Password-protected and multi-page files are fine.
Every transaction is extracted and checked against the statement total. You see the parsed rows before exporting.
Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.

Yes. Associated Bank works with QuickBooks through Web Connect, where you download a .qbo file from Associated online banking and import it, and many accounts also support the aggregated bank feed. The integration is real, but as a regional bank the automatic feed is more prone to outages and empty downloads than the national banks. Because of that, plenty of Associated business users keep a converted-statement workflow ready: download the PDF, convert it to .qbo here, and import clean data whenever the live connection lets them down.
Associated feeds usually fail for one of a few reasons. Regional-bank aggregation can break after a bank-side update, so the feed returns nothing or an error until the connection is refreshed. A changed password, a new security or multi-factor prompt, or a maintenance window will also stop the sync. On QuickBooks Desktop, a Web Connect (.qbo) import now requires you to be signed in to an Intuit account, and skipping that step makes the file appear to fail. While the feed is failing, download the Associated PDF statement for the period you need, convert it to a .qbo file here, and import that so the account stays current.
First make sure you downloaded the file from Associated online banking directly and that it is a true .qbo, since QuickBooks Web Connect reads only that format. In QuickBooks Desktop, confirm you are signed in to your Intuit account, which is now required to import a .qbo file. If the import still fails or the download came back empty, refresh the bank connection, or skip the feed entirely: save the Associated PDF statement for the period you need and convert it to .qbo with the tool above so you can import clean transactions without chasing the error.
Log in to Associated online banking, open the account, and choose the option to download or export activity, then select the QuickBooks Web Connect (.qbo) format and a date range. Import the file in QuickBooks through Upload from file in QuickBooks Online, or File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files in Desktop. The live feed typically reaches back only about 90 days, so for anything older you will need the statement. If the .qbo download fails or only QFX and CSV are offered, save the PDF statement for that period and convert it to .qbo with the tool above so you can import the transactions without fighting the format.
Sign in to Associated online banking or the mobile app, open the account, and go to the statements or documents section. Select the month you need and save the eStatement as a PDF using the download or print option. Online statement history is usually limited to the most recent stretch, so request older periods from the bank if they are not listed. Whatever the source, the PDF you download converts the same way, so you can reach history the live feed never offers.
Convert the Associated PDF to a .qbo file with the converter above, then import that file. In QuickBooks Online, go to Transactions, Bank transactions, then Upload from file, and choose the .qbo. In QuickBooks Desktop, go to File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. QuickBooks asks which account the transactions belong to, then drops them into the banking review queue for matching and categorizing, exactly as a working Associated feed would, without the empty downloads and import errors a regional feed is prone to.
Associated Bank statements convert cleanly because the layout stays consistent month to month. Personal and business checking statements list transactions in date order with a description and amount, separating deposits and credits from checks, withdrawals, and fees, with a daily balance summary. Commercial and treasury accounts add analysis and service-charge sections. The converter strips out the summary boxes, fee tables, and marketing inserts, so only real transactions reach your .qbo file, and it reads scanned or photographed Associated statements through OCR the same way it reads a digital PDF.
Use the Associated feed for going-forward activity when it is behaving, since it keeps QuickBooks current with little effort. Convert the PDF statement when the regional feed breaks after a bank update, when a Web Connect download comes back empty, or when you need history the feed misses: older periods, opening balances for a new QuickBooks file, a catch-up month, or a closed account. Because regional-bank feeds tend to be less dependable, many cleanups for Associated business accounts run on converted statements to stay on schedule.
Accuracy is the part that matters most, because a converter that quietly drops or misreads an Associated transaction costs far more time than it saves. The error usually surfaces during reconciliation, sometimes weeks later, while you chase a few dollars across a long register. This converter totals the transactions it parsed and checks that figure against the statement total before it lets you export, so the .qbo you import reflects every line Associated printed. You review the parsed rows in the preview first, then export once the numbers tie out.
