HomeStreet Bank is the Seattle bank founded in 1921, held by HomeStreet, Inc. (Nasdaq: HMST) with about $9.4 billion in assets and roughly 56 branches across Washington, Oregon, California, Hawaii, Utah, and Idaho. As of 2025 it merged into Mechanics Bank, which puts every HomeStreet QuickBooks connection on a deadline. If you keep your books in QuickBooks and bank at HomeStreet, upload a HomeStreet Bank PDF statement at the top of this page to get a clean .QBO file before that history gets harder to reach.

The converter turns a HomeStreet Bank PDF statement into a .qbo Web Connect file that imports into QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, plus matching Excel and CSV copies. Every transaction keeps its date, description, and amount, and the parsed total is checked against the statement total before you export. This page covers the Mechanics Bank merger, the conversion deadline, and how to import the file.

A real .qbo file QuickBooks accepts

Built for the statements US banks actually send, checked before it exports.

Reconciliation

Every total checked against the statement

The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to the statement total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.

Web Connect

A genuine .qbo, not a renamed CSV

Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.

OCR

Scans and phone photos read line by line

OCR runs before parsing, so a scanned or photographed paper statement comes out the same as a digital PDF.

Volume

A year of statements in one batch

Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.

Locked files

Password-protected PDFs handled

Enter the password on upload. Multi-column and multi-page statement layouts are parsed too.

Exports

Excel and CSV in the same download

One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.

How to convert your statement to QuickBooks

Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.

1

Upload the PDF statement

Drag in a PDF, a scan, or a phone photo. Password-protected and multi-page files are fine.

2

Review the reconciled rows

Every transaction is extracted and checked against the statement total. You see the parsed rows before exporting.

3

Import into QuickBooks

Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.

Questions worth answering

The specifics that decide whether the import is clean. If your case is not here, email [email protected].

Does HomeStreet Bank work with QuickBooks?

Yes. HomeStreet supported Web Connect and QFX/QBO file downloads, Express Web Connect aggregation for QuickBooks Online and Quicken, and Direct Connect through its business cash-management service. So a live feed worked for most accounts. With the bank converting onto the Mechanics Bank platform, though, the feed must be deactivated and rebuilt, which is exactly when converting the PDF statement to a .qbo file becomes the dependable way to keep your books current.

Is HomeStreet Bank becoming Mechanics Bank?

Yes. After a planned FirstSun Capital deal was terminated in late 2024, HomeStreet agreed to merge with Mechanics Bank of Walnut Creek, California. The deal was announced March 31, 2025 and closed September 2, 2025, with HomeStreet Bank merged into Mechanics Bank as the surviving bank and the holding company renamed Mechanics Bancorp. The combined bank runs about 166 branches and more than $22 billion in assets. Your accounts continue to work, but they move to the Mechanics Bank platform, which retires the HomeStreet bank feed.

What happened to my HomeStreet QuickBooks feed?

It moved to Mechanics Bank. The systems cutover ran the weekend of March 21 to 22, 2026. HomeStreet personal online banking, the mobile apps, bill pay, and the automated phone lines stopped on March 20, 2026, and customers moved onto the Mechanics Bank platform on March 23, 2026. Intuit aggregation was expected to be interrupted for three to five business days around the cutover. If your feed has been dead since then, the fix is to deactivate the old HomeStreet connection in QuickBooks and reconnect under Mechanics Bank, then check the overlap for duplicate or missing transactions. Converting the PDF statements covers the gap the feed left behind.

How do I get my old HomeStreet statements now?

Start with whatever you already saved. HomeStreet online banking gave access to up to 22 months of statements, and the bank told customers to save or print statements and tax documents before the platform closed on March 20, 2026, because historical access could be limited afterward. If you downloaded them, convert those PDFs to .qbo files so the full history lands in QuickBooks instead of sitting in a folder. If you did not, ask Mechanics Bank what HomeStreet history it can still produce for your account, then convert whatever statements it sends you. A converter works the same on a statement the bank mails you today as on one you downloaded two years ago.

Will my HomeStreet account number change after the merger?

Most account numbers carried over, but routing numbers, online banking logins, and the bank name on your statements all changed as accounts moved onto the Mechanics Bank platform. That matters for QuickBooks because the bank feed keys on the institution and account identifiers, so a connection originally set up as HomeStreet does not simply resume under Mechanics Bank. It has to be reconnected under the new institution and pointed at your existing register, because adding a brand new account instead is what creates a duplicate set of transactions. Converting your statements sidesteps the question entirely: the .qbo file imports against whichever account you choose in QuickBooks, regardless of what changed during the cutover.

How do I download a HomeStreet Bank statement as a PDF?

Sign in to HomeStreet online banking or the mobile app, open the account, and go to the statements or documents area. Choose the account and the month and save it as a PDF, or use the print-to-PDF option in the statement view. Business accounts download from the same documents section after signing in with business credentials. The converter reads any of these PDFs the same way, so recent and older statements both produce a clean .qbo file.

How do I import a HomeStreet Bank statement into QuickBooks?

Convert the HomeStreet Bank PDF to a .qbo file with the converter above, then import that file. In QuickBooks Online, go to Transactions, then Bank transactions, then Upload from file, and select the .qbo. In QuickBooks Desktop, use File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. QuickBooks asks which account the transactions belong to and then routes them into the banking review queue for matching and categorizing, the same way a live feed would, which is useful while the feed is in limbo during the Mechanics Bank cutover.

What does a HomeStreet Bank statement look like to the converter?

HomeStreet Bank statements list transactions in date order with a description and an amount, separating deposits and credits from checks, withdrawals, and service charges, with a beginning and ending balance for the period. The converter ignores the summary boxes, daily balance tables, fee schedules, and inserts, so only real transactions reach your .qbo file. It reads scanned or photographed statements through OCR the same way it reads a digital PDF, which matters here because you may be saving older statements as images before the platform closes. Personal and business account formats both convert cleanly.

How accurate is the converted HomeStreet Bank file?

Accuracy is the part that matters most, because a converter that quietly drops or misreads a transaction costs far more time than it saves. The error usually surfaces during reconciliation, sometimes weeks later, while you chase a few dollars across a long register. This converter totals the transactions it parsed and checks that figure against the statement total before it lets you export, so the .qbo you import reflects every line HomeStreet Bank printed. You review the parsed rows in the preview first, then export once the numbers tie out.

Every route from HomeStreet Bank into QuickBooks, compared

HomeStreet accounts moved onto the Mechanics Bank platform in the March 2026 conversion, so some of these routes now point at a different institution entry than they did last year. This is what each path needs, how much history it reaches, and where it stops.

RouteWhat it needsHow far backKey limit
Direct Connect through business cash managementEnrollment on the bank side, set up through the cash management serviceGoing forward only, once enrollment is activeHomeStreet accounts moved to the Mechanics Bank platform, so the HomeStreet entry is no longer the profile a new connection should point at
