Banner Bank supports QuickBooks through Direct Connect, but the setup is not self-serve, and that trips up a lot of bookkeepers. Banner publishes its own Direct Connect setup and sync instructions and asks customers to call the bank to enable the service, so the feed does not work until that enrollment is done. Banner Corporation also runs a separately branded sister bank, Islanders Bank, and absorbed AltaPacific Bank after the 2019 acquisition, so the wrong institution name in QuickBooks is another reason a link fails. While you sort out Direct Connect, you can work straight from the statement. Upload a Banner Bank PDF statement to the converter at the top of this page and get the transactions back in a format QuickBooks accepts.
The converter turns a Banner Bank PDF statement into a .qbo Web Connect file that imports into QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, plus matching Excel and CSV copies. Every transaction keeps its date, description, and amount, and the running total is checked against the statement before you export. Here is how Banner Bank connects to QuickBooks, why Direct Connect setup stalls the feed, and when converting the PDF is the better move.
Built for the statements US banks actually send, checked before it exports.
The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to the statement total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.
Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.
OCR runs before parsing, so a scanned or photographed paper statement comes out the same as a digital PDF.
Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.
Enter the password on upload. Multi-column and multi-page statement layouts are parsed too.
One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.
Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.
Drag in a PDF, a scan, or a phone photo. Password-protected and multi-page files are fine.
Every transaction is extracted and checked against the statement total. You see the parsed rows before exporting.
Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.

Yes. Banner Bank works with QuickBooks. Banner supports Direct Connect for QuickBooks Desktop and a downloadable Web Connect file, and business clients use Banner's treasury and cash-management services, which support QuickBooks imports. The catch is that Direct Connect has to be turned on by the bank first: Banner asks you to call its support line so the service is enabled on your accounts, and only then will QuickBooks authenticate. The integration is real, but the enrollment step and the separate Islanders Bank brand are why a Banner connection often does not work on the first try.
Banner Bank usually fails to connect because Direct Connect was never enabled on the account, or because the wrong institution was chosen in QuickBooks. Direct Connect at Banner requires the bank to activate the service before QuickBooks can authenticate, so picking it without enrollment returns a login error. If you bank with Islanders Bank or an account that came over from AltaPacific, the matching entry in QuickBooks differs from Banner Bank, and selecting the parent name fails the link. Either way, rather than wait on a bank call, download the Banner Bank PDF statement and convert it to a .qbo file with the tool above so the transactions land in QuickBooks now.
To set up Direct Connect, call Banner Bank and ask them to enable Direct Connect for QuickBooks on your accounts, then follow Banner's sync instructions: in QuickBooks Desktop, add the account through Bank Feeds, search for Banner Bank, choose Direct Connect, and sign in with your online-banking credentials. QuickBooks Online users generally rely on Web Connect or an aggregated feed rather than Direct Connect. If enrollment is pending or the sync errors out, you do not have to wait: convert the Banner Bank PDF statement to a .qbo file with the tool above and import it, then switch to the live feed once Direct Connect is active.
Log in to Banner Bank online banking, or to the treasury portal for a business account, open the account, and use the export or download option, choosing the QuickBooks Web Connect (.qbo) format and a date range. Import the file in QuickBooks through Upload from file in QuickBooks Online, or File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files in Desktop. The live download typically reaches back only about 90 days, so older periods are out of range. If the .qbo download is missing or the format comes back as Quicken QFX rather than .qbo, save the PDF statement for that period and convert it to .qbo with the tool above.
Sign in to Banner Bank online banking, open the account, and go to the statements or documents section to view your eStatements. Pick the month you need and save it as a PDF with the download or print option. Business users find statements inside the treasury or cash-management portal, and Islanders Bank customers use the Islanders online banking site. Online statement history is usually limited to a couple of years, so request older periods from the bank if they are not listed. Whatever the source, the PDF you download converts the same way, so you can reach history the live feed never offers.
Convert the Banner Bank PDF to a .qbo file with the converter above, then import that file. In QuickBooks Online, go to Transactions, Bank transactions, then Upload from file, and choose the .qbo. In QuickBooks Desktop, go to File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. QuickBooks asks which account the transactions belong to, then drops them into the banking review queue for matching and categorizing, exactly as a working Banner feed would, without waiting on the Direct Connect enrollment.
Banner Bank statements convert cleanly because the layout stays consistent month to month. Personal and business checking statements list transactions in date order with a description and amount, separating deposits and credits from checks, withdrawals, and fees, with a daily balance summary. Commercial and analysis accounts add service-charge sections. The converter strips out the summary boxes, fee tables, and marketing inserts, so only real transactions reach your .qbo file, and it reads scanned or photographed Banner statements through OCR the same way it reads a digital PDF, including Islanders Bank statements.
Use the Banner feed for going-forward activity once Direct Connect is enabled and behaving, since it keeps QuickBooks current with little effort. Convert the PDF statement when Direct Connect enrollment is pending, when an Islanders Bank or former AltaPacific account does not match the Banner entry, when a download comes back as QFX instead of .qbo, or when you need history the feed misses: older periods, opening balances for a new QuickBooks file, a catch-up month, or a closed account. The enrollment step is exactly why many Banner cleanups start on converted statements.
Accuracy is the part that matters most, because a converter that quietly drops or misreads a Banner transaction costs far more time than it saves. The error usually surfaces during reconciliation, sometimes weeks later, while you chase a few dollars across a long register. This converter totals the transactions it parsed and checks that figure against the statement total before it lets you export, so the .qbo you import reflects every line Banner printed. You review the parsed rows in the preview first, then export once the numbers tie out.
Upload a PDF, see every transaction extracted in seconds. No card to try it.
