Bank of Hawaii is a Pacific regional bank, and regional bank feeds break more often than the big national banks do. Honolulu based Bank of Hawaii (NYSE: BOH, founded in 1897, about $24 billion in assets, serving Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, and other West Pacific islands) connects to QuickBooks through an aggregated feed or a manual Web Connect download, and customers regularly report the feed stalling with errors like CC-601 or simply downloading nothing after an online banking update. Upload a Bank of Hawaii PDF statement to the converter at the top of this page and get the transactions into QuickBooks directly.
The converter turns a Bank of Hawaii PDF statement into a .qbo Web Connect file that imports into QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, plus matching Excel and CSV copies. Every transaction keeps its date, description, and amount, and the running total is checked against the statement before you export. Here is how Bank of Hawaii accounts connect to QuickBooks, why a Pacific regional feed is often unreliable, and when converting the PDF is the faster route.
Built for the statements US banks actually send, checked before it exports.
The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to the statement total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.
Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.
OCR runs before parsing, so a scanned or photographed paper statement comes out the same as a digital PDF.
Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.
Enter the password on upload. Multi-column and multi-page statement layouts are parsed too.
One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.
Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.
Drag in a PDF, a scan, or a phone photo. Password-protected and multi-page files are fine.
Every transaction is extracted and checked against the statement total. You see the parsed rows before exporting.
Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.

Last updated July 2026. Every way a Bank of Hawaii statement can reach QuickBooks, side by side, so you can see where the aggregated feed stops and where converting the PDF keeps working.
| Route into QuickBooks | Accepted file | Per-file limit | History it reaches | Bank of Hawaii constraint |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| QuickBooks Online, Upload from file | .qbo, .qfx, .ofx, .csv | 350 KB and 1,000 lines per file | Any statement period you still hold a PDF for | Bank of Hawaii offers no Direct Connect, so there is no premium two way link to fall back on |
| QuickBooks Desktop, Import Web Connect | .qbo only | No published line cap | Any period you still hold a PDF for | Rejects .qfx, .ofx and .csv outright; a Bank of Hawaii .qbo lands in the Bank Feeds Center |
| Express Web Connect feed (aggregated) | Automatic, no file | Not applicable | Commonly about 90 days on first connect, varies | This is the connection that throws CC-601 and stops downloading after an online banking change |
| Bank of Hawaii online statement | PDF you download and save | eStatements run up to about 24 months | Only what is inside the online window unless you saved older months | Business customers pull statements through eStatements and Image Search in Bankoh Business Connections |
| This converter, PDF to .qbo | PDF or image in; .qbo, Excel and CSV out | One statement per file stays inside the 350 KB and 1,000 line ceilings | As far back as you have statements, including closed accounts | Reads scanned or photographed statements by OCR and totals every line against the statement before export |
Yes, Bank of Hawaii works with QuickBooks, but through Web Connect and the aggregated Express Web Connect feed rather than premium Direct Connect. With Web Connect you download a file from online banking and import it; with Express Web Connect QuickBooks logs in with your username and password to pull transactions. Bank of Hawaii does not advertise Direct Connect, so there is no premium two way link. Both available methods have broken repeatedly for Bank of Hawaii customers, so converting the PDF statement is the option that keeps working when the feed does not.
Bank of Hawaii usually fails to connect because the aggregated feed for a regional Pacific bank is the least dependable connection type, and it broke for many customers after Bank of Hawaii changed its online banking interface. Symptoms include repeated credential prompts, downloads that suddenly stop, and the error CC-601, unable to download account information. QuickBooks and Quicken support have acknowledged these as known issues with no firm fix date. When the feed will not behave, converting the PDF statement with the tool above gets current transactions into QuickBooks right away.
Error CC-601 means QuickBooks or Quicken could not download account information from Bank of Hawaii, usually because the aggregated connection to the bank has dropped on the bank's side. It is one of the most reported Bank of Hawaii feed errors and often appears after an online banking change, when the saved connection no longer matches the login flow. The standard workaround is to disconnect and reconnect the account, but that does not always clear it. Converting the PDF statement sidesteps the feed entirely and still lands the transactions in QuickBooks.
Bank of Hawaii does not advertise QuickBooks Direct Connect, the premium two way feed that some national banks charge for. The supported methods are Web Connect, where you download a .qbo file and import it, and the aggregated Express Web Connect feed that reads your transactions automatically. Without Direct Connect, there is no bank backed two way link, so you rely on a download or an aggregation that, for Bank of Hawaii, has a track record of stalling. Converting the PDF gives you a clean .qbo file that imports the same way a Web Connect download would.
Log in to Bank of Hawaii online banking, or to Bankoh Business Connections for a business account, open the account, and look for the export or download option, choosing the QuickBooks Web Connect format and a date range if it is offered. Import the file in QuickBooks through Upload from file in QuickBooks Online, or File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files in QuickBooks Desktop. Bank of Hawaii publishes its own QuickBooks reference guide for linking accounts. When the export is limited or the feed fails, save the PDF statement and convert it instead.
Sign in to Bank of Hawaii online banking, enroll in electronic statements and documents if you have not already, then open the statements area, choose the month, and save it as a PDF. Business customers retrieve statements through the eStatements and Image Search tool inside Bankoh Business Connections. Online statement history runs up to about 24 months, so older months may have to come from a statement you already saved. The converter reads any of these the same way, so an older statement and a current one both produce a clean .qbo file.
Convert the Bank of Hawaii PDF to a .qbo file with the converter above, then import that file. In QuickBooks Online, go to Transactions, Bank transactions, then Upload from file, and choose the .qbo. In QuickBooks Desktop, go to File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. QuickBooks asks which account the transactions belong to, then sends them into the banking review queue for matching and categorizing, exactly as a working feed would, without depending on an aggregated connection that a regional bank cannot always sustain.
Bank of Hawaii statements convert cleanly whether they come from a personal checking or savings account or a business relationship on Bankoh Business Connections. They list transactions in date order with a description and amount, separating deposits and credits from checks, withdrawals, and fees, with a daily or ending balance summary. The converter strips out the summary boxes, fee tables, and marketing inserts, so only real transactions reach your .qbo file, and it reads scanned or photographed statements through OCR the same way it reads a digital PDF.
Use the feed for going forward activity if the aggregated connection happens to work on your account, since it keeps QuickBooks current with little effort. Convert the PDF statement when the feed stalls with CC-601 or stops downloading, when an online banking change has broken the link, or when you need history the feed misses: statements older than the online window, opening balances for a new QuickBooks file, a catch up period, or a closed account.
Accuracy is the part that matters most, because a converter that quietly drops or misreads a transaction costs far more time than it saves. The error usually surfaces during reconciliation, sometimes weeks later, while you chase a few dollars across a long register. This converter totals the transactions it parsed and checks that figure against the statement total before it lets you export, so the .qbo you import reflects every line Bank of Hawaii printed. You review the parsed rows in the preview first, then export once the numbers tie out.
