Byline Bank is the Chicago commercial bank run by Byline Bancorp (NYSE: BY), a roughly $9.7 billion institution serving the Chicago and Milwaukee metro areas. It is one of the most active SBA 7(a) lenders in the country and the top SBA lender in Illinois, so its customer base is heavily small-business owners and the bookkeepers who run their QuickBooks. If you bank at Byline and need your transactions in QuickBooks, upload a Byline Bank PDF statement at the top of this page to get a clean .QBO file.
The converter turns a Byline Bank PDF statement into a .qbo Web Connect file that imports into QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, plus matching Excel and CSV copies. Every transaction keeps its date, description, and amount, and the parsed total is checked against the statement total before you export. This page covers Byline's QuickBooks connection, the 2025 platform upgrade that forced a relink, and how to import the file.
Built for the statements US banks actually send, checked before it exports.
The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to the statement total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.
Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.
OCR runs before parsing, so a scanned or photographed paper statement comes out the same as a digital PDF.
Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.
Enter the password on upload. Multi-column and multi-page statement layouts are parsed too.
One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.
Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.
Drag in a PDF, a scan, or a phone photo. Password-protected and multi-page files are fine.
Every transaction is extracted and checked against the statement total. You see the parsed rows before exporting.
Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.

Yes, Byline Bank works with QuickBooks. Its online banking can produce .QBO Web Connect files and .QFX Quicken files, and the bank supports Express Web Connect, the aggregated feed that signs in with your online banking credentials, with Direct Connect available where supported. Because the connection often runs through Express Web Connect rather than a guaranteed two-way Direct Connect feed, it can stall after a login or platform change. When the feed will not refresh or you need history older than it pulls, converting the PDF statement gives you the same transactions in a .qbo file QuickBooks imports directly.
Byline upgraded its online and mobile banking platform in May 2025, and the upgrade required QuickBooks and Quicken users to back up their data, download a final transaction set by May 16, 2025, and then deactivate and reactivate the bank-feed connection. The bank warned that Express Web Connect would not be available until May 26, 2025, and suggested downloading a QFX or QBO file during the outage. If your Byline feed went quiet around late May 2025 or still pulls nothing, that conversion is the likely cause. Converting the PDF statement keeps your books current while the feed is rebuilt.
Byline online banking can export .QBO and .QFX files, which the bank specifically pointed customers to during the May 2025 outage. The limitation is range and reliability: the export only covers what the current platform holds, and the feed it depends on was disrupted by the upgrade. For older months, archived statements, or any period the export will not produce, the dependable path is to take the PDF statement and convert it. The converter produces a .qbo file plus Excel and CSV copies, so you get a clean QuickBooks import without depending on the feed being healthy that day.
This page is about Byline Bank, the Chicago institution owned by Byline Bancorp (NYSE: BY). Byline took its current name in 2015 after consolidating the former North Community Bank and related charters, and it has since acquired Inland Bank and Trust in 2023 and First Security Trust and Savings Bank in 2025. If you banked with one of those predecessors, your accounts are now part of Byline Bank and connect in QuickBooks under the Byline name.
Sign in to Byline online banking on the web or the mobile app, open the account, and go to the statements or documents area. Choose the account and the month you want and save the statement as a PDF. On Byline's current platform, about eight months of transaction history is available online while statements go back up to about seven years, so older transactions often live only inside those statement PDFs. The converter reads any of these PDFs the same way, so a recent statement and a years-old one both produce a clean .qbo file.
Convert the Byline Bank PDF to a .qbo file with the converter above, then import that file. In QuickBooks Online, go to Transactions, then Bank transactions, then Upload from file, and select the .qbo. In QuickBooks Desktop, use File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. QuickBooks asks which account the transactions belong to and then drops them into the banking review queue for matching and categorizing, the same way a live feed would. The workflow is identical whether your feed is connected or still being rebuilt after the platform upgrade.
On Byline's upgraded platform, roughly eight months of account history is available in the feed while statements are kept for up to about seven years. That gap matters for QuickBooks: the live feed cannot pull transactions older than its short window, even though the statement PDFs covering those months still exist. Converting those PDFs to .qbo is the way to backfill older Byline transactions into QuickBooks that the feed simply will not reach, which is common during catch-up bookkeeping and tax prep.
Accuracy is the part that matters most, because a converter that quietly drops or misreads a transaction costs far more time than it saves. The error usually surfaces during reconciliation, sometimes weeks later, while you chase a few dollars across a long register. This converter totals the transactions it parsed and checks that figure against the statement total before it lets you export, so the .qbo you import reflects every line Byline Bank printed. You review the parsed rows in the preview first, then export once the numbers tie out.
Byline's customers are largely small-business owners, SBA borrowers, and the accountants who keep their books, so the transactions need to land in QuickBooks regardless of what the feed is doing. After the May 2025 platform upgrade forced a relink and an Express Web Connect outage, the practical fallback is to import the statement by hand, and converting the PDF to .qbo is the cleanest way to do that. It is also the right tool for catching up several un-synced months, onboarding a new bookkeeper to an existing company file, reconciling periods older than the eight-month feed window, or pulling history together for an SBA loan review or year-end taxes.

Start by uploading a Byline Bank statement in the converter above. If you also bank with another Chicago-area institution, you can convert a Wintrust statement to QuickBooks or a BMO statement to QuickBooks the same way. If your books live in Excel instead, the same statement can become a spreadsheet with the bank statement to Excel converter, and an SBA-heavy shop with stacks of vendor bills can pair it with accounts payable automation. You can also see how the underlying PDF to QBO converter works, follow the steps to import bank statements into QuickBooks Online, read about the QBO file format, or convert any bank's statement from the bank statement to QuickBooks converter home page.
