Webster Bank grew sharply when it merged with Sterling National Bank, and that merger is the reason many Webster accounts stopped feeding QuickBooks. As Sterling accounts moved onto the Webster platform, the old bank-feed links broke, and customers were told to add a new bank entry (often shown as Webster SNB) and re-merge their accounts inside QuickBooks. Some saw error 102 or lost their download entirely during the transition. Webster supports Web Connect (.qbo) downloads, but reconnecting after the merger is a chore and the feed has been unreliable. When the connection will not behave, you can work straight from the statement. Upload a Webster PDF statement to the converter at the top of this page and get the transactions back in a format QuickBooks accepts.
The converter turns a Webster Bank PDF statement into a .qbo Web Connect file that imports into QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, plus matching Excel and CSV copies. Every transaction keeps its date, description, and amount, and the running total is checked against the statement before you export. Here is how Webster connects to QuickBooks, why the download fails, and when converting the PDF is the better move.
Built for the statements US banks actually send, checked before it exports.
The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to the statement total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.
Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.
OCR runs before parsing, so a scanned or photographed paper statement comes out the same as a digital PDF.
Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.
Enter the password on upload. Multi-column and multi-page statement layouts are parsed too.
One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.
Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.
Drag in a PDF, a scan, or a phone photo. Password-protected and multi-page files are fine.
Every transaction is extracted and checked against the statement total. You see the parsed rows before exporting.
Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.

Yes. Webster Bank works with QuickBooks through Web Connect, where you download a .qbo file from Webster online banking and import it, and many accounts also support the aggregated bank feed. Webster has provided QuickBooks and Quicken connection guidance, so the integration is real. Because the Sterling National merger forced customers to relink under a new Webster entry and the feed has thrown error 102, many business users keep a converted-statement workflow ready: download the PDF, convert it to .qbo here, and import clean data whenever the live feed lets them down.
Webster feeds usually fail for one of a few reasons. The biggest since the Sterling National merger is that old connections broke and accounts now sit under a new bank profile in QuickBooks, so you have to disconnect the dead link and reconnect to the current Webster entry. Error 102 points to a bank-side maintenance or server problem, and a changed password or a pending security prompt can also stop the sync. While the feed is failing, download the Webster PDF statement for the period you need, convert it to a .qbo file here, and import that so the account stays current.
After the Sterling National merger, the fix is usually to relink rather than repair. In QuickBooks, disconnect the old Sterling or Webster account from the bank feed so it stops erroring, then search the bank list again and connect to the current Webster Bank entry (some customers found their accounts under a Webster SNB profile during the transition). Map each account to the right register so history is not duplicated. If the new connection still will not download, save the Webster PDF statement for the gap period and convert it to .qbo with the tool above to fill in the missing transactions.
Log in to Webster online banking, open the account, and choose the option to download or export activity, then select the QuickBooks Web Connect (.qbo) format and a date range. Import that file in QuickBooks through Upload from file in QuickBooks Online, or File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files in Desktop. If the .qbo download fails or only QFX and CSV are offered after the merger, save the PDF statement for that period and convert it to .qbo with the tool above so you can import the transactions without fighting the format.
Sign in to Webster online banking, open the account, and go to the statements or documents section. Select the month you need and save the eStatement as a PDF. Accounts that came over from Sterling National may keep older statements under a separate archive, so check both if a period is missing. Webster can also provide archived statements on request. Whatever the source, the PDF you download converts the same way, so you can reach history the live feed never offers.
Convert the Webster PDF to a .qbo file with the converter above, then import that file. In QuickBooks Online, go to Transactions, Bank transactions, then Upload from file, and choose the .qbo. In QuickBooks Desktop, go to File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. QuickBooks asks which account the transactions belong to, then drops them into the banking review queue for matching and categorizing, exactly as a working Webster feed would, without the relink headaches the merger caused.
Webster statements convert cleanly because the layout stays consistent month to month. Personal and business checking statements list transactions in date order with a description and amount, separating deposits and other credits from checks, withdrawals, and fees, with a daily balance summary. Older Sterling National-branded statements and Webster commercial accounts add analysis and service-charge sections. The converter strips out the summary boxes, fee tables, and marketing inserts, so only real transactions reach your .qbo file, and it reads scanned or photographed Webster statements through OCR the same way it reads a digital PDF.
Use the Webster feed for going-forward activity when it is behaving, since it keeps QuickBooks current with little effort. Convert the PDF statement when the merger left an account stuck between the old and new connection, when error 102 will not clear, or when you need history the feed misses: older periods, opening balances for a new QuickBooks file, a catch-up month, or a closed account. Because the Webster connection has been unsettled since the Sterling merger, many cleanups for Webster business accounts run on converted statements to stay on schedule.
Accuracy is the part that matters most, because a converter that quietly drops or misreads a Webster transaction costs far more time than it saves. The error usually surfaces during reconciliation, sometimes weeks later, while you chase a few dollars across a long register. This converter totals the transactions it parsed and checks that figure against the statement total before it lets you export, so the .qbo you import reflects every line Webster printed. You review the parsed rows in the preview first, then export once the numbers tie out.
