The Flagstar rebrand is the main reason a working QuickBooks link to one of these accounts suddenly stops. New York Community Bancorp, which had run branches under names like Queens County Savings Bank, Roslyn Savings Bank, Richmond County Savings Bank, Roosevelt Savings Bank, Atlantic Bank, Garden State Community Bank, Ohio Savings Bank and AmTrust Bank, moved every branch to the Flagstar name on February 21 2024, then renamed the holding company to Flagstar Financial on October 25 2024. The former Signature Bank branches it bought in March 2023 also operate as Flagstar. If your QuickBooks feed was set up under any of those older names, it points at a profile that no longer exists. While you reconnect, work straight from the statement: upload a Flagstar Bank PDF to the converter at the top of this page and get the transactions back in a format QuickBooks accepts.
The converter turns a Flagstar Bank PDF statement into a .qbo Web Connect file that imports into QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, plus matching Excel and CSV copies. Every transaction keeps its date, description, and amount, and the running total is checked against the statement before you export. Here is which entry to pick in QuickBooks after the rebrand, why old links break, and when converting the PDF is the faster route.
Built for the statements US banks actually send, checked before it exports.
The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to the statement total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.
Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.
OCR runs before parsing, so a scanned or photographed paper statement comes out the same as a digital PDF.
Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.
Enter the password on upload. Multi-column and multi-page statement layouts are parsed too.
One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.
Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.
Drag in a PDF, a scan, or a phone photo. Password-protected and multi-page files are fine.
Every transaction is extracted and checked against the statement total. You see the parsed rows before exporting.
Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.

Yes. Flagstar Bank accounts work with QuickBooks. Flagstar supports a downloadable Web Connect (.qbo) file and an aggregated bank feed in QuickBooks Online, and business customers connect through Flagstar's online and treasury banking. The catch after the rebrand is the institution name: a connection created while the account was branded New York Community Bank, one of the legacy savings-bank names, or Signature will not refresh on its own, because the live profile now sits under Flagstar Bank. Once you relink under the Flagstar entry with your current login, the feed works normally again.
Select Flagstar Bank. Every branch NYCB ran, including the legacy savings-bank brands and the former Signature Bank locations, now operates under the single Flagstar name after the 2024 rebrand, so Flagstar is the entry that matches your current online banking. Picking New York Community Bank, Queens County Savings Bank, Signature Bank, or any of the other retired names sends your credentials to a profile that no longer connects and the link fails. If you are unsure which Flagstar entry to choose, match it to the website you actually log in to, then convert your recent PDF statements so your books are current while the new feed settles.
Deactivate the old feed first, then add the account again under Flagstar Bank. In QuickBooks Online, open the bank account, disconnect it, then add it back and search for Flagstar Bank instead of the old NYCB or Signature name. In QuickBooks Desktop, deactivate bank feeds for the account, then set them up again under the Flagstar connection. Use your current online banking credentials, and pick the Flagstar entry that matches your account type, since both the branding and the feed moved during the rebrand. If the new feed is slow to backfill, convert the Flagstar PDF statements for the gap so nothing is missing.
Flagstar Bank usually fails to connect because QuickBooks is still pointed at a retired profile, such as New York Community Bank, a legacy savings-bank name, or Signature Bank, instead of the Flagstar entry the accounts moved to in the 2024 rebrand. Until you deactivate that feed and relink under Flagstar, downloads return nothing or throw an account-not-found error. The same delay shows up right after any large branding change, when the aggregation feed needs a few days to map the renamed accounts. The fix is to reconnect under Flagstar Bank. If the relink stalls or the first download is empty, convert the Flagstar PDF statement to a .qbo file with the tool above so you are not blocked.
Log in to Flagstar online banking, open the account, and use the export or download option, choosing the QuickBooks Web Connect (.qbo) format and a date range. Import the file in QuickBooks through Upload from file in QuickBooks Online, or File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files in Desktop. The live download usually reaches back only about 90 days, and statements issued under the old NYCB or Signature branding may sit in a separate archive, so older periods are often out of range. When the .qbo option is missing or the download comes back as Quicken QFX, save the PDF statement for that period and convert it instead.
Sign in to Flagstar online banking, open the account, and go to the statements or documents section to view your eStatements. Choose the month you need and save it as a PDF with the download or print option. Statements issued before the February 2024 rebrand may appear under the prior bank name in a historical or document-archive area, so check there for older periods. Business and treasury users find statements inside the commercial banking portal. Whatever the source, the PDF you download converts the same way.
Convert the Flagstar Bank PDF to a .qbo file with the converter above, then import that file. In QuickBooks Online, go to Transactions, Bank transactions, then Upload from file, and choose the .qbo. In QuickBooks Desktop, go to File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. QuickBooks asks which account the transactions belong to, then drops them into the banking review queue for matching and categorizing, exactly as a working feed would, without waiting on the Flagstar reconnection or guessing which entry to pick.
Flagstar statements convert cleanly across the bank's footprint in New York, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, and beyond, including the older NYCB-branded layouts and the former Signature Bank documents. Personal and business checking statements list transactions in date order with a description and amount, separating deposits and credits from checks, withdrawals, and fees, with a daily balance summary. Commercial and analysis accounts add service-charge sections. The converter strips out the summary boxes, fee tables, and inserts, so only real transactions reach your .qbo file, and it reads scanned or photographed statements through OCR the same way it reads a digital PDF.
Use the live feed for going-forward activity once the account is relinked under Flagstar and behaving, since it keeps QuickBooks current with little effort. Convert the PDF statement when the feed is mid-move to the Flagstar profile, when a download comes back as QFX instead of .qbo, or when you need history the feed misses: pre-rebrand months under the old NYCB or Signature name, opening balances for a new QuickBooks file, a catch-up period, or a closed account.
Accuracy is the part that matters most, because a converter that quietly drops or misreads a transaction costs far more time than it saves. The error usually surfaces during reconciliation, sometimes weeks later, while you chase a few dollars across a long register. This converter totals the transactions it parsed and checks that figure against the statement total before it lets you export, so the .qbo you import reflects every line Flagstar printed. You review the parsed rows in the preview first, then export once the numbers tie out.
Upload a PDF, see every transaction extracted in seconds. No card to try it.
