Divvy, now branded BILL Spend & Expense, connects to QuickBooks Online with a one-way sync that pushes card transactions into a Divvy credit card account in your chart of accounts. It works well once it is set up, but only a Divvy admin can connect it, it does not backfill the transactions from before you turned it on, and the sync depends on careful merchant and account mapping that often leaves gaps.
The converter turns a Divvy or BILL Spend & Expense card statement PDF into a .qbo Web Connect file that imports into QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, plus matching Excel and CSV copies. Every charge, payment, and credit keeps its date, merchant, and amount, and the parsed total is checked against the statement balance so the card account reconciles.
Built for the statements US banks actually send, checked before it exports.
The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to the statement total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.
Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.
OCR runs before parsing, so a scanned or photographed paper statement comes out the same as a digital PDF.
Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.
Enter the password on upload. Multi-column and multi-page statement layouts are parsed too.
One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.
Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.
Drag in a PDF, a scan, or a phone photo. Password-protected and multi-page files are fine.
Every transaction is extracted and checked against the statement total. You see the parsed rows before exporting.
Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.

Log in to BILL Spend & Expense, select Integrations from the left menu, find QuickBooks Online, and choose Connect; only a Divvy admin can do this. In the configuration screen, enable Sync Merchant, pick your Divvy credit card account in QuickBooks rather than your checking account, and turn on Auto Sync.
It is a one-way push. Completed Divvy transactions sync into QuickBooks within about seven days, categorized by the GL codes you mapped in Divvy, with receipts attached. It posts to a Divvy credit card account, not your bank feed, so the data and the mapping live on the Divvy side rather than in QuickBooks.
The usual causes are missing account or merchant mapping, Sync Merchant left switched off, transactions that are not yet completed, or a connection made by someone who is not a Divvy admin. Pending and pre-connection transactions never sync, so converting the statement is the fix when the live sync leaves gaps.
No. The integration is forward-only and syncs transactions from around the date you connect, so any spending before that never reaches QuickBooks. For catch-up bookkeeping, a closed-out card, or a switch in accountants, convert the Divvy statement PDF to load the historical charges the sync skips.
Sign in to BILL Spend & Expense, open the Statements or Reports area, choose the billing period you need, and download the statement as a PDF. Save the file, then upload it to the converter above to build a QuickBooks-ready .qbo file.
Convert the Divvy PDF to a .qbo file with the tool above, then import it. In QuickBooks Online, go to Transactions, then Bank transactions, select your Divvy card account, and choose Upload from file. In QuickBooks Desktop, use File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files and pick the .qbo.
BILL Spend & Expense has a separate QuickBooks Desktop integration, but many teams find the Desktop sync more limited and harder to map than the Online version. A converted .qbo Web Connect file imports directly into QuickBooks Desktop, which avoids the Desktop sync setup entirely.
Yes. Divvy is a corporate charge card, so the converter builds a .qbo that posts to a QuickBooks credit card account, the same account type the live sync uses. Each charge becomes a dated transaction you can categorize and reconcile against the Divvy statement balance.
No. BILL is a financial technology company, not a bank, and the BILL Divvy Card is not a deposit product. The card is issued by partner banks, member FDIC, such as Cross River Bank, WebBank, or WEX Bank. Because the card sits on a fintech platform, statements convert cleanly rather than connecting like a traditional bank.
Yes. Divvy was renamed BILL Spend & Expense after BILL acquired it, so the same product appears under both names in QuickBooks and on statements. Note this is the corporate card and spend platform, not Divvy Homes the rent-to-own company or the Divvy bike-share, which are unrelated businesses.
Yes. Only a Divvy admin can set up or change the BILL Spend & Expense connection to QuickBooks, so a bookkeeper without admin rights cannot turn it on. When you do not have admin access, downloading the statement and converting it to .qbo lets you get the card data into QuickBooks without it.
Divvy rewards and statement credits appear on the card statement as their own lines, and the live sync does not always map them where you want. A converted statement keeps each credit as a dated, negative transaction so you can post it to a rewards or other-income account and keep the card balance accurate.
A Divvy statement lists each card charge, payment, and credit in date order with the merchant name and amount, grouped by billing period and often by cardholder. The converter reads those rows and writes each as a dated transaction in the .qbo file, ready to import to the credit card account.
Accuracy matters most, because a converter that misreads a charge or drops a credit costs more time than it saves. The tool checks the parsed transactions against the statement total before it builds the file, so the .qbo you import matches the Divvy statement to the cent.
The built in sync and a converted statement solve different problems. The sync keeps current spend flowing; the converter is how you get anything that happened before you connected, or anything on a card you no longer administer.
| Route | What it needs | How far back | Key limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| BILL Spend and Expense integration for QuickBooks Online | A Divvy admin to connect it, plus GL account and merchant mapping | Forward only, from roughly the date you connect | Admin only, completed transactions only, syncs within about seven days, and posts to a Divvy credit card account rather than a bank feed |
| BILL Spend and Expense integration for QuickBooks Desktop | The separate Desktop integration and its own mapping setup | Forward only, same as the Online sync | Mapping is more limited and harder to set up than the Online version |
| QuickBooks Online Upload from file | A QBO, QFX or CSV file you already have on disk | Whatever period the file itself covers | 350 KB maximum file size and 1,000 lines maximum per file |
| QuickBooks Desktop Web Connect | A .qbo file imported through the Bank Feeds menu | Whatever period the file covers | Desktop accepts .qbo only, so a .qfx or CSV export will not import |
| This PDF converter | The statement PDF from the Statements or Reports area | Any billing period you can still download, including spend from before you connected the sync | Convert one billing period per file so each import stays under the QuickBooks Online caps |
