DocuClipper pricing plans in full

Two things stand out. First, each plan is really a slider of page tiers, and the per page price only falls from about 48 cents to about 18 cents as you climb. Second, pages on monthly plans do not carry forward, so a quota you only half use is money gone. Annual billing releases the whole year's pages upfront, which helps if your volume swings. The Enterprise annual figure the page displays, $360, is not 30 percent off its $400 monthly list, so confirm that one with sales.

What counts as a page

A page is a page of a document, not a statement and not a transaction. A business checking statement with 40 transactions might be six pages. Three accounts across a quarter is easily 50 to 60 pages on its own, which is the entire Starter quota. This is the single most common budgeting mistake people make with any per page extraction tool, ours included.

Does DocuClipper export QBO files for QuickBooks?

Yes. DocuClipper exports QBO Web Connect files as well as QFX, OFX, QIF, IIF, CSV and Excel, and it offers a direct push into QuickBooks Online and Xero. If your only requirement is getting a PDF statement into QuickBooks as a .qbo file, DocuClipper does that on every paid plan, including the $29 Starter tier ($20 a month billed annually). That is worth saying plainly, because it is the question people arrive with and a lot of comparison pages dodge it.

Here is the honest version, including the part where we lose. Our Starter plan does not include .qbo export at all, so for QuickBooks Web Connect output our entry price is the Plus plan at $149 a month, or $74 a month billed annually. DocuClipper's entry price for the same output is $29 a month, or $20 billed annually.

At what volume does DocuClipper stop being the cheaper option?

Above 300 pages a month. Up to 300 pages, DocuClipper Starter at $29 to $79 a month beats our $149 Plus plan. The next tier, Business 640, costs $159 a month, already more than Plus, which stays at $149 for up to 10,000 base AI pages. On annual billing the rule holds: DocuClipper's 300 page tier works out to about $55 a month, under our $74, while its 640 page tier at $111 is above it.

So the buying rule is simple. A solo bookkeeper doing a handful of clients should look hard at DocuClipper Starter. A firm running catch up work, lending files or more than 300 statement pages a month is past the point where a per page plan is cheaper, and the decision comes down to accuracy and formats. A team past a thousand pages a month is paying a large premium to stay on a per page plan.

Is DocuClipper worth it for accountants and bookkeepers?

For most small firms, yes, and the format coverage is genuinely broader than ours. Where we would argue for ourselves is documents that fight back: scanned or photographed statements, statements with multi page transaction tables, and any file where the extracted total has to match the paper exactly. We reconcile against the statement's own running balance and surface the mismatch instead of handing you a clean looking export that is quietly short two transactions. On a lending file or a catch up engagement that difference is the whole job.

Whatever you pick, test it on your ugliest statement first, not your cleanest. The scanned one from the credit union with the two column transaction table is what separates these tools, and it is the file you will be feeding it every month.

Firms comparing extraction tools usually have a second pile of paper waiting behind the bank statements, and receipts are their own problem with their own tooling, so it is worth pulling receipt and invoice data into a spreadsheet separately rather than burning statement page quota on them.
